enestaner I’m writing this from my hospital room after surgery yesterday. I was a WRECK the month before surgery, but I’m happy to report it honestly wasn’t terrible. Maybe not the most fun I’ve had, but I’m up and about, walking, eating jello & drinking water. Hopefully getting discharged today.
My best suggestion is to keep your eyes on the prize. About a week ago, I was so anxious about surgery that I almost canceled. I pushed through and I’m so glad I did, even if I’m in a bit of pain rn. Also, follow all directions when you get into your room. Walking has helped me a lot. And be honest about your pain. They dosed me around the clock and it has really helped. Ice packs helped me too. Be super transparent about how you are feeling post-op & remember the drs & nurses are there to help you (this was an important lesson for me to learn because I hated the thought of bothering anyone).
Youve got this! Hang in there ?
